BK Radio - APCO P25 Interoperability

BK Radio P25 RELM Wireless

Digital radios compliant with APCO P25 (APCO Project 25) specifications embody certain fundamental advantages to all, including interoperability. The term interoperability refers to radio equipment in compliance with APCO P25 specs, regardless of the manufacturer, that must be "interoperable" or able to communicate and work together in harmony.

With pure APCO P25 network interoperability, a public safety agency may be able to use one manufacturer for basic infrastructure, another for mobile and portable radios. If those digital radios are BK Radio D Series mobiles and portables from RELM Wireless, that agency is going to save public funds, and/or be able to buy many more APCO P25 radios under the same budget.

APCO P25 interoperability means that all compliant radio equipment of any manufacturer must share the same basic functionality and be capable of working with other APCO P25-compliant equipment. That being so, the cost factor - The RELM Advantage - can make a decisive difference.
